As the only national university located in the eastern Gyeongnam area with eighty-one year long history, Miryang National University has experienced a remarkable growth and development during the recent years. When it was established in 1923, MNU started as a junior college specialized in agriculture and sericulture. Experiencing a lot of social change and growth in Korea since then, MNU has achieved remarkable results both in quantity and quality. Now Miryang National University has twenty-two departments or majors with graduate schools. Also we have ten research institutes and other supporting facilities such as experiment station. We built and moved to new campus in the beginning of 2005 and it means we have started a historical step forward to the brighter future. My university and Pusan National University are going to merge into one university next year heading for one of the best universities in northeast Asia.
