Materials Engineering, a new field of study that deals with the theory of synthesis natural or man-made materials essential to ordinary life and industrial activity, is concerned with the relation between their structure and physico-chemical properties, the processes for altering their structure and properties, and the promotion of their usability. Generally, materials can be divided into either metals, ceramics, or electronic materials. The department conducts academic and research activities on these materials; provides the students with a broad fundamental education, including basic theories and fabrication processes of materials; and sets its goal at fostering able engineers. After graduation, they employed find work as high-class technical members or researchers in a variety of fields including metallic materials, polymer materials, automotive and airplane production, and in research institutes.
